Summer work in the National Forest

Well, I'm back. I thought I'd be without internet all summer but my new job demanded that it was available. It's only dial-up but it better than sitting on the porch of the local grocery store trying to get a signal.
We are in the Tahoe National Forest in beautiful northern California. The last of my campgrounds will open tomorrow. Cookie has been busy with her 4. I have learned alot since arriving in April. I now know how to turn on and shut off the water systems for all the CG's. I can take water samples and fill out the forms and know what it all means. I get to deal with a variety of personalities which has proved challenging at times.
The weather has been beautiful and the scenery even more so. We are along the North Yuba River with it's many splenders. Most of all I have the best office in the world, the great outdoors.

Rock-n-Roll

And I'm not talking about music. We're hunkered down in the RV hoping the wind doesn't drop us in Kansas. It's warm outside if you are sheltered from the wind. It started late last night and is really giving us a workout. Luckily there is no dust associated with it all. Mostly cloudy.

Nothing else is note worthy.

Internet, finally!

Well it's been awhile. I finally have a day of internet. We drove back to Gila Bend on Wednesday with a short stop in Casa Grande to visit a friend that is in the hospital. I had forgotten to tell the service advisor a couple of things I wanted to get done but they aren't important. It has been warm and until today fairly calm. There is a threat of rain and the wind is quite strong. I was able to fine some less expensive vehicle insurance that had better coverage than what I had. I switched and saved $684 a year.

We won't be at the spring race in Phoenix for the first time in 4 years. Our jobs in CA require us to be there before the race. Oh well we'll hook up again in the fall.
The image in the corner is an afghan Cookie made for my friends in the U.K. It took her 5 and 1/2 weeks from start to finish. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!

Tucson II

It was a good day today. We dropped the rig off at 8am for service, then we went to breakfast. After breakfast we went to the Desert Museum in the Tucson Mtn. park. It was a very nice outdoor museum. If you enjoy the desert and its wonders you will enjoy the Desert Museum. There is also a county RV park near the museum. It seems a little pricey for what you get but the atmosphere is well worth it. There is a 7 day stay limit. Check it out.

Tucson

Well we drove to Tucson today and we are staying in the Beaudry RV resort. We have free nights and we are going to get some work done to the rig tomorrow. While that is being done we are going to do some site seeing.
It was an easy drive over here until some sob cut me off at a stop light and I had to step on the brakes. Well as you may have guessed stuff went flying, fortunately nothing broke, it's just a mess but easy to clean up.

another day

It has been another wonderful day. I have spent most of my time on the computer and Cookie has been crocheting. She has just finished a beautiful afghan that she has dilgently worked on for over a month. We are going to send it to a very special friend.

We are 2 days away from our trip to Tucson. I am lookig forward to getting away for a few days. The winter vacation has been great but I still get board.

getting started

This is my first blog. Everyone is doing it so after all this time of following other blogs I thought I should do one too.

It is 29 January, 2009

We are chilling in Gila Bend Arizona. I actually mean chilling, it has been in the low 30's the past couple of mornings. Considering what the rest of the country is going through we feel very lucky to be where we are.

I want to bring another perspective to everything because I am just another person with a different view of life.
